Evolution 2.0 UI proposal

Here at Ximian we have been brainstorming a bit about what happens
next in the Evolution world. One of the ideas that has come up is a
substantial overhaul of Evolution's UI.

Since images speak better than words, here are the mockups for some
designs that Anna has developed: (this is just to give a very rough
idea of what it would be like; the icons and labels are not final, the
widgets are not the real ones etc.)

Getting rid of the summary and the weather basically provides a e-mail client that is functionally no different than many others. It's nice having everything integrated into one application. Plus, many non-power users will find it easier to configure the summary view in Evolution instead of messing around with many applets to get the same functionality.

To be honest I like the Summary view, and with Evolution 2 not having a summary view I'll probably move to using Kontact or Mozilla suite of e-mail clients.
