The X Developer's Meeting is now underway at the Cambridge Research Laboratory in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Federico Mena-Quintero has put a nice write-up online of the first day of talks, the write-up is available here

All the changes you mentioned have been implemented as X extensions in freedesktop.org's Xserver. No one has yet volunteered to do the work of porting them to x.org or XFree86 (or finding out if this is even possible, given the changes to the X server infrastructure that are necessary to make things like the compositing manager work.)
