I hope they do something about the speed of AA- (not subpixel, just "plain old AA" text rendering. To bring _any_ GNOME computer to its knees (and I mean any), simply run gnome-terminal with a 9- or 10- point font, maximize it, and hexdump -C

Even on a dual opteron system with a quadro 980XGL video card, the system load will hit 2 instantly and nothing else much will run. Pretty pathetic that we can't even scroll text at reasonable speeds. In contrast, an OSX terminal scrolling like mad takes up no time at all. Hell, five at once does little...
