Gaim is an Instant Messaging, Multi Protocol, application written in GTK2+.

From the news page: "0.81 doesn't have too much in the way of new features, but we closed about 240 bugs since the last release."

I have the same problem. I think it may have something to do with my developmental version of GTK.
