The Mono development environment allows programmers to be more productive than they would be with conventional C programming. The C# language and the Mono APIs together provide a great platform to build applications on.

Has anyone ever proved this?

And the amount of ram that a single mono application uses is obscene.

Muine and Monodevelop use 300+ megs of ram.

Rhythmbox and Vim: 80 megs.

Absolutely, because no real programmer uses that piece of bloatware vim. Get the real thing instead - nvi.
