In-depth review of Inkscape

Inkscape
Inkscape

Jakub 'Jimmac' Steiner, GNOME artist extraordinaire, have done a long and detailed review of the current release of Inkscape. Jimmac comes out mostly positive this time around, and it seems the Inkscape hackers might be able to get Inkscape to a level where they can lure Jimmac and other artists away from Illustrator in the upcomming months. In related news, it seems John Stracke might be taking over maintainership of Sodipodi from Lauris Kaplinski.

Thats the philosophy

That is the philosophy of free software. Stealing to create something better, and so proggress. Thats the whole point. Who cares if Sodipodi did 80% of the code, they are software sucks, so nobody uses it, or credits it for that matter. Cause and Effect.

Thanks to Free Software, GNU GPL, whatever you want to call it, we can steal to create something better. Who cares about the original author. Nobody cares about the ones who came in second like in sports.

"Good artists copy, great one steal".
