Chinese web browsing

I have tried an evaluation copy of Sun JDS Release 2 and found the Chinese fonts as rendered in Mozilla the best looking among many of the live Linux I have downloaded.

Are those fonts open/free/public domain? If so, how does one extract them to use with other distributions?
