I've created an article with mockups and ideas for things that I'd like to see GNOME 3.* doing in the future.

If you can afford a 21" monitor dosen't mean all of the people can also. Here in Brasil those cost a small fortune, while the normal 17" are somewhat cheaper. There is also other problem, Laptops and others portable computers do have smaller screens, while I use a 1280x1024 in my desktop, my laptop can only reach 1024x768 (and for the first time I stated using applications maximized).

We should not discard something that saves space just because (some) people can afford multiple huge screen. Simply because even those people can gain with the space saved. It's like sayng that we should expect people to have 512Mb of memory, just because many people do have.
