I've created an article with mockups and ideas for things that I'd like to see GNOME 3.* doing in the future.
The article can be seen here, with more ideas and things available through my blog, such as the Scoop proposal, and a mockup of how to make drag and drop far easier with spatial nautilus.

It is not about running gnome on a waaaaay underpowered box.

Then again I think a box with 128MB RAM which is not that far outdated. Eugenia that little annoying troll is right. It is un-usable.

Its about people laughing that you are running the slow gnome desktop.

Unless you got a lot of RAM. Gnome is slow. Period, freakin' period even. It is slower than KDE or XFCE or well everything else.
