Nokia Makes Donation to GNOME Foundation

STUTTGART, Germany –May 31, 2005 – Nokia, which recently launched the Nokia 770 Internet Tablet, announced today a developer device program at the GNOME user and Developer European Conference (GUADEC). The developer device program will donate the proceeds from the sales of 500 Nokia 770 devices to the GNOME Foundation.

The real shame is that there are still KDE trolls who feel it necessary to post on Gnome sites.

I don't see comments with pro kde and contra gnome statements.

The comments are about softwarepatents, and this is a big problem and Nokia is one of the big softwarepatent-supporter in Europe.

It's nice if they use gnome, gtk+ and give us some money. But just because they give us some money and uses some of our software we shouldn't close our eyes.

I'm afraid that you are mistaken, Mr. A. George...

Most Gnome users don't hang out on gnomedesktop.org, they hang out in distro forums. Check out www.ubuntuforums.org, and say again that there's no Gnome community.

But there's some truth to what you say none the less... The poor state of www.gnome.org - from the view of newcomers, leads to under exposure of footnotes if you ask me.
