For extra excitement this time, you'll need cairo from cvs, or the snapshot
available here:

This is less than ideal, but at least it allows us to test GNOME tarballs
that require it. Cairo 0.6.0 is expected very soon.

TESTING! TESTING! TESTING!
--------------------------

This release is a feature frozen snapshot primarily intended for wide public
scrutiny before the final GNOME 2.12 release in September. GNOME uses odd minor
version numbers to indicate development status. Please check the 2.11 page
for more info:

Happy testing!

editor?

i don't know why they call it an "editor" in the first place

this has got to be some kind of misunderstanding. gnome users have to wait for years for basic functionality that has already been included in almost all modern OSes and WMs (menu editing, desktop shortcut editing, and so on). then they finally get it but hey, it's for "new, unexperienced users". which make maybe 5-10% of the gnome user base, and that won't change fast, no matter how simple the menu editor is. gnome developers! hear me now and look at me when i'm talking to you: THIS IS STUPID. it's a lot of pain, because i love gnome.

and yes, i DID read the memo, being the relevant message on the list, stating why it has to be so - that's BS and you know it.

either you're developers, or a bunch of random people brought by chance to work on the same project. well, which are you?
