For extra excitement this time, you'll need cairo from cvs, or the snapshot
available here:

This is less than ideal, but at least it allows us to test GNOME tarballs
that require it. Cairo 0.6.0 is expected very soon.

TESTING! TESTING! TESTING!
--------------------------

This release is a feature frozen snapshot primarily intended for wide public
scrutiny before the final GNOME 2.12 release in September. GNOME uses odd minor
version numbers to indicate development status. Please check the 2.11 page
for more info:

Happy testing!

Indeed it is stupid. stupid

Indeed it is stupid. stupid to think that everyone spends all their time editing menus. I can honestly say I have never needed to edit the menu. I install an app, it includes a desktop file, it appears in my menu. While some people will need to edit their menu at some point you will find that the average joe never does, so the lack of a menu editor isn't that important, hence the reason there isn't a huge development movement around it.

Then there are also non official gnome menu editors, smeg for intance, the xfce one and kde one should also work just fine.
