Doom ported to the Nokia 770

Not strictly GNOME related, but close enough for us to appreciate the coolness of the hack. Seems some crazy guys have ported the classic game Doom to the Maemo environment. The developer activity around this upcoming device from Nokia, which sports a GTK+ based gui, is simply incredible. Go to internettabletttalk.com to see a photo of the 770 running doom and download a movie of game in action.

I need one of those beast.

I need one of those beast. I'll play with it real nice.

Hazing ritual

It's like some kind of hazing ritual for all of these new pda/palm/phone devices. You can find doom for almost any device, if you don't, it means that either it's not possible, or there is no developer community.

Yes, even there's a project

Yes, even there's a project called Doom64 to have at least some doom like feeling on a Commodore 64 ;-) However it's not surprising. As I've read somewhere: doom was the first game which fasten the evolution of PC hardware at the first time, if we're talking abount the game side only. Though I've almost never played any computer games :)
