Some doubts about rules

Just some minor questions about how the design should be.

1. What bakground color will the splash run on?

To employ colors contrasting with it, or avoid a splash
very similar to the background.

2. Width of the bottom stripe in the splash (where icons
are shown at desktop loading for the different init steps)?

Mine is like Clearlooks-splash-04 (very good design indeed, no plagiarism intended, either).

3. Number of colors to use?

Just to know if there are some limitations, like say,
less than 32? between 2 and 16M? just those in the GNOME palette?

4. Van Gogh- or Mondrian-style?
Just kidding :-)

The upload is actually

The upload is actually automated, it just takes time for the ftp to sync, which is what causes the delay between submission and appearance in the list.

The description was a small oversight (having worked when we originally tested), and is already fixed.

What's the point?

Every distrobution adds their own splash screen anyway.

What's the font of Gnome? by Anonymous George

I don't know if this is what you asked...

The fonts used in the default GNOME desktop are the Bitstream Vera fonts:

I believe the font is MS by Anonymous George

Why not create a new one?

Well we have new software, new default theme, new icons...

Why not have a new splash screen? Why not incorperate a new look for 2.12? Why not allow people to have some fun doing a splash screen?

The people who did the entries for 2.10 are welcome to submit the old entries with 2.12 as well.
