How should it handle open files when ejecting media?

That's a good idea, but it brings up some problems. Nautilus has to close all the open files is has there (including the directory it's displaying) before it can unmount and eject a removable device. What should happen to that nautilus window when the filesystem it's browsing gets unmounted? Remove all the icons, but leave the window? Close the window? Jump up the filesystem tree to the nearest directory that's not being unmounted?

Anyone know how Windows and MacOS handle this situation?
