Funny the "article" doesn't mention kimdaba

which is the real competitor of F-Spot, I think. digikam and gthumb have the focus much more on viewing pictures than on sorting/tagging/finding them. KimDaBa is the only kde app I use regularly, sort of complementing gthumb. It has far superior image managing features, but its viewing mode really sucks.

Tagging

F-spot, on the other hand, forces you to laboriously create sub-categories and tags (and the distinction is not obvious at all) and apply them to pictures by right-clicking and choosing from a submenu or by clicking on checkboxes. Yuck.

The author didin't discover the wonderful drag-and-drop system in F-Spot ?
You drop a tag on a picture or picturrs on a tag... so nice !
