Image Management with F-Spot

Mono

Linux Magazine have an article talking about the F-Spot Image management application. The story gives a brief overview of other popular programs available in the field before talking about the specifics of F-spot.

It probably shouldn't be

It probably shouldn't be included in Gnome, but photo organizing is becoming more important to people. There are a couple of commercial applications for Windows that are popular (one from Microsoft and one from Adobe), and then there is iPhoto. So, yeah, just as people didn't used to organize their music collection, but started doing that as their collections got bigger, the same thing is happening with photos as more people get digital cameras. I fully agree with the Mono problem, but it doesn't seem to be going away. Maybe people will become interested in Java again if the new Apache group project is successful.
