New Muine Extensions

Muine is a music player for the GNOME desktop that focuses on being very easy to use. Two new versions of cool plugins for Muine have just been released.
Muinescrobbler
A new version of Muine's Audioscrobbler plugin Muinescrobbler has just been released. This version features a complete new GUI that tries to integrate better with GNOME and to follow the GNOME HIG.

McReceiver
McReceiver is a project attempting to create better support for using GNOME multimedia players with a remote control. It is different from MPD in that it integrates better with GNOME and remains in sync with the application on the server. So if you press the start button in Muine, the client will also reflect that change in it's user interface. If you add a song to the playlist on the client, the playlist in Muine will also be updated.
McReceiver comes with a server that is currently implemented as a Muine plugin, but was written with portability in mind. Development snapshot 0.3 has just been released, you can also look at a screenshot.
The announcement of the server is also a call for help - a generic client library is needed, and McReceiver will also feature an easy-to-use client for the Nokia 770. If you are a developer and would like to hack on some code, leave a comment or drop me an email and I am going to hand out SVN access.
If you would like to port the server to another application, also let me know.
