Fedora Core 5 to Include Mono

Mono
Mono

Red Hat was the main opponent against the inclusion of Mono on their products or Gnome's core for the past few years. This situation was creating tention within the Gnome community. But this is all past now and Fedora Core 5 will include Mono, and some of its front row applications like Beagle, Tomboy and F-Spot will be too.

You have been reading too much Slashdot!

Tell me do you drink coke-cola? They murdered 9 people!? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Coca-Cola_Company#Criticisms Yet I am sure even Richard Stallman has at least once in his life drunk a Coke.

So far, I haven't heard of Microsoft killing anyone. That is just one of many examples that could be given - but I'll let you have the same fun I had of researching.

You need to understand a company isn't ONE person, it normally contains many people - 50 thousand in Microsoft's case. All people think differently, to say they all think/behave the same is foolish.

Why do you care who funds the research and development of a OPEN standard!? If Microsoft decide break the standard, who cares!? Its not like these applications are being developed to run on Microsoft's implacation of the .Net standard, they are being developed for OSS OS that use GTK (which Windows doesn't). Even if Microsoft decided to fork the open standard and move to a properity "embraced and extended" standard, it wont magicly stop Mono from being able to run those applications.

And with this "embraced and extended" thing, the IE team call these things bugs, bugs are in all software. As the IE team were dropped after IE6, these deep level bugs had no one to fix them. That is the only reason why they are being delayed to be fixed in IE7.

I personally would trust anything from Microsoft that hasn't been tampered by their marketing team and .Net is one of those.
