Fedora Core 5 to Include Mono

Mono
Mono

Red Hat was the main opponent against the inclusion of Mono on their products or Gnome's core for the past few years. This situation was creating tention within the Gnome community. But this is all past now and Fedora Core 5 will include Mono, and some of its front row applications like Beagle, Tomboy and F-Spot will be too.

re: You have been reading too much Slashdot!

You need to understand a company isn't ONE person, it normally contains many people - 50 thousand in Microsoft's case.

Microsoft isn't just a company (which may be many people). Microsoft is a corporation, which IS one person. That's what the word "corporation" means: "body". It is that way under the law and also that way in practice since it is in a corporation's best interest to be self consistent. Corporations might have mood swings just as a human would, as different voices inside its thinking process speak louder than others, but generally, unless something very major happens, they'll just keep doing what they've done before. Corporations have the right to be treated as a human because they mimic humans, they have minds and souls configured out of many employees which are like its synapses and neurones, they have their own thinking pathways to make decisions based on their merits, both moral and practical. Corporations do so well in mimicking humans that many of them earn our trust and sometimes love. But others do not and conduct themselves poorly. Those are the ones that should not be trusted in the future. Microsoft has shown itself to be a nasty corporation with its thinking paths wired in a way to make nasty choices, we have seen that in their anti-competitive exploits, their bullying of other companies, their support for closed standards and drm and its disinterest in the quality of its product. This shouldn't be forgotten any quicker than if an individual had done these things.
