Gnome Multimedia
Gnome Multimedia

Sweep, an audio editor and live playback tool, just released its new developement version 0.9.0, featuring the switch to GTK+2 for its interface.

The new version also improves mp3 detection and loading, adds a new SVG icon, updates its Spanish and Polish translations, and includes several minor tweaks and improvements.

In a review in August 2005, Linux Format wrote about Sweep: "Sweep is excellent. [...], it is not functionally bloated and slow. It’s fast and efficient." and continue "[Sweep is] a step ahead of the competition, which is what you’d expect from an editor used at Pixar."

Gstreamer audio support is stable

Maybe your assertion is true for gstreamer 0.8 video support, but audio support has always worked well, and now in 0.10 it is much better

Video, audio, doesn't seem

Video, audio, doesn't seem to matter with gstreamer. I can't claim to have tried the latest version, but since the developers have been making gradiose claims and promises for years and never delivering... I find it hard to believe that it'll be any different.

You know, it's funny,

But since 0.8 was released. In fact, since 0.6 received some polish not long before 0.8 was released, I've found that gstreamer can tend to be much more stable than most other systems.
