This is something I don't like

Why does women have seperate bug day? And a more general question: why do free software enthusiasts insist on seperating various minorities?

For the outside world this is a hint that we don't practice equal rights for everyone (Of course some not so liberal countries could actually like it, but that doesn't justify this issue).

Now if i were a girl, I would most certainly avoid such a meeting.

Did you read the notice?

Specifically, the part where it says "All are welcome"?

Yes, there is a group specifically for women within Gnome. I struggle to classify being female as being part of a "minority": the fact that you think women are a minority in this industry (and, to be fair, they are) shows you exactly why a group like Gnome Women is needed.

Rather than criticising the group, it would be better if you turned up and supported people - especially women - fixing bugs in Gnome. When women have equal representation we can then talk about "equal rights".

Not run by men

You better fall silent since you do not know what you are talking about. Gnome Women project is not run by men.

Regarding Gnome bugsquad, the last few bug days were indeed run by men (but that may change any time).
Gnome Women have simply decided to join us in our efforts for the next bug day. Bug days were, are and will be open to anyone.
