Well, hopefully either beagle plugin for thunderbird shows up or evolution starts handling IMAP folders and offline filtering in a sane manner.

GNOME search

Nautilus beagle is awesome and no you dont need 1Gb of ram for beagle, they fixed that leak in the newer version.

However I do notice that beagled does take all your ram and more, so I guess they have not fixed it yet.

I have 1G of RAM, but never use more than 350MB. Maybe I'm not multi-tasking enough? ;)

Give it time. Beagle is only at version 0.2. There's still lots of development to go before it's nice enough for a 1.0 version.

BTW, using spotlight on Mac OSX absolutely CRAWLS. Plus whenever I have it open my hard drive goes crazy, implying it's eating up my RAM and the system is thrashing. This is with 512 megs of RAM. So I don't think it's so much Beagle's fault as the fact that this is new technology that hasn't been given a chance to mature yet.
