Serpentine 0.7 was just released!

Serpentine is a simple to use and very porwerful cd audio recording application.

Serpentine features a simple to use HIG compliant interface. It aims to do one thing and do it right: writing audio CDs. It accepts a big range of audio (and video) formats thanks to the excelent GStreamer framework. It also tries to integrate well with other application, accepting full Drag N Drop from applications like: Nautilus, Rhythmbox and even Firefox!

Changes from 0.6.4:

  • Support for GStreamer 0.10
  • Ability to open files through the command line.
  • Uses Cairo to draw the usage gauge.
  • Ability to not use GnomeVfs
  • More robust metadata parsing and not media files handling

There were two beta releases which were not announced, these were
Serpentine 0.6.9.0 and 0.6.91. Changes from 0.6.91:

  • implemented key bindings
  • window geometry and disc size is now persistent
  • important bug fixes (especially for PPC users)

Serpentine now has a mailling list too.

Does it support "normalisation"? by Anonymous George (not verified)

Nice App

I like projects that have focus. It's a welcome relief from projects that try to do everything but suck at everything they do. Keep up the good work. Love Serpentine! :-)

have you tried graveman? not

have you tried graveman? not really sure, but i think it supports it all. k3b is great too, but i just can't stand kde stuff (nothing wrong with it, i just like simple things).

speaking for me, i'm very happy with nautilus cd-burner + serpentine, which is a really nice app btw, as i don't really need it all.
