File Permissions in Nautilus

Nautilus
Nautilus

Alexander Larsson recently committed his work on the permissions page in Nautilus. He writes: I just commited a rework of the permissions page in the file property dialog. It has a simplified UI (and an advanced/unixy version availible via a gconf setting) and support for recursive permission changes.

The only trolls I've ever

The only trolls I've ever seen on this forum are the ones that complain about everything and can never say anything positive. Take for example this story. People have been clamoring for a new permissions dialog for years. Now somebody has stepped up to the plate, put some careful design consideration into it, and developed a prototype that will eventually be merged into the main tree. Is anybody happy? There are exactly two positive comments (out of 17 as of this writing). The rest complain about ACLs, or argue about whether "recursive" should be used, or complain about how long it took, or interject KDE references where they don't belong. Hmm, I wonder why developers don't read this forum?
