Gnome 2.x
Gnome 2.x

Alex Graveley has announced the first release of Gimmee.
The network access is too poor and the distractions too much fun here at GUADEC to write a proper release note just yet, but I wanted to let everyone know that the first Gimmie tarball is up.

Well, that's kind of what

Well, that's kind of what it's doing. This app takes advantage of existing apps' ability to communicate and work well together. All these facilities exist for applications to communicate and work well together, so here's an application that presents them all in one convenient place. Remember, once you've launched your applications, they can still work well together in the same old way (ie, rhythmbox still talks to sound juicer and nautilus the same way as it used to). All this thing does is present you with a different way of launching applications and accessing your documents.
