who cares about a shadow when there's better things to do?

evolution's has a rather unique delete behaviour different and incompatible with many other clients. Or how about building in some easy to configure bayesian anti-spam support. Junk/not junk be the same button, and not have it go in it's own folder. I like to see it merely marked as junk.

Why are people so worried about shadows?

Furthemore, calendar applications need far more than small UI improvements. I know plenty of people that are otherwise completely computer savy use paper calendars. Mostly because current calendar tools try to lock you in their mode. Why for example does every event with a start time also need an end time? Why can't I attach colors to different events in the same calendar? why does a recurring event need a start date? why does month view not allow selecting a day and just typing to start an event(think of the big desk calendars some keep).

The current feature set of evolution calendar is very corporate/phb.
and I hate to use a corporate saying but too many people don't think outside the box!
