In search of opinions on GNOME Games module games

Gnome 2.x
Gnome 2.x

The GNOME Games maintainers are planning to deprecate one GNOME Games game which is unpopular and difficult to maintain during the 2.18 release cycle and replace it with a more popular game with
better, more maintainable code. To this end, we are seeking input from our users to decide which game to remove and also opinions on which game to include.

Users interested in participating in driving this decision can do so at:

categories

I know this probably goes against the HIG, but I think the games menu needs to be 2 levels deep instead of 1 (I run Fedora, so perhaps this is distro specific?). Under Games-> should be a list of categories which will encompass a wide range of games. I used to have a list of proposed categories, but it's gone missing... Lets try: Action, Baord games, Card games, Dice (?), Simulation (?), Puzzles. I generally add BZflag and FlightGear and occasionally something else. Obviously we don't want any empty menus, and gnome may not come with something for all defined categories. However, IMHO, someone on the gnome team should define a good set of categories that all distros and packagers could follow. It has to come from upstream to make things consistent, and gnome has enough games that the menu should already be 2 levels deep. Remember, the menu should make things easy to find. What's better, selecting from 2 short menus or selecting from one really long one? At some point it's the later, and I've always felt that gnome is right near that point - adding more definitely pushes it past.
