I am pleased to release version 0.3 of Scribes. Scribes is a text
editor that uniquely balances simplicity with power. This release is a
significant milestone in providing you with an enjoyable text editing
experience. Bugs were squashed, new features implemented, countless
enhancements made and numerous performance optimizations tweaked. It
is strongly recommended that you upgrade to the new version.

how does it compare with TEA in startup speed and features ?

I am mainly a nedit user, because it has lots of features and starts fast, but I would like to switch to a gtk2 text editor. At present, I have tested mousepad which is fast to start but lacks feature, TEA which is both fast and feature-full, and gedit which has some features but is very slow to start (the gedit of gnome 2.16). TEA is nice, but I have switched back to nedit at the end, so I am still looking for the perfect editor. Any info would be appreciated.
