Difference between this and Beagle by Anonymous George (not verified)

This sounds very promising

This sounds very promising (I have disabled beagled a few times due to crawling pc problems when I play games). It would be great if they could implement the beagled interface for beagle search apps.. Best of both worlds then (abundant front ends and extra power when needed).

Beagle..

Hi Guys,

The project looks interesting. I'm curious though, what is the difference between this and beagle? Does this provide a search backend that beagle search tools can use? I definitely do not want two indexers running (beagle tends to slow my machine - P4 2.4GHZ). It would be great if the integrated gnome search could use your backend..

Looking forward to your reply..

Aah I see. does beagled

Aah I see. does beagled provide an interface (via sockets or dbus) for searching though? I had assumed this was the case. If that is the case, couldn't tracker provide a compatible interface? I assume that the search applications do not read the backend data directly.... (I hope they do not at least)
