Celebrating the release of GNOME 2.18!

Today, the GNOME Project celebrates the release of GNOME 2.18, the latest version of the popular, multi-platform Free desktop environment.

Released on schedule, to the day, it is the culmination of six months effort by GNOME contributors around the world: hackers, documentors, usability and accessibility specialists, translators, maintainers, sysadmins, companies, artists, users and testers. Due to their hard work, we have another great release to be proud of - thanks very much
to every contributor!

Texting on the release page

It's nice that we all got used to using catchy old standard phrases to make our marketing texts more fluid. Only, one should not completely stop thinking while writing them:

The second paragraph talks about new security features, improved internationalization and new developer tools. Followed by this:
"What's more important, for the first time we ship online games, chess with a 3D look, and endless Sudoku entertainment."

Yepp, it's good to set your priorities right. I kind'a always knew that the games were the most important part in GNOME.
