16 bit color a bit overrated

Actually, I'm a "prosumer", even a professional, using gimp. I'm not saying it wouldn't be nice with 16bpp in gimp but I really don't think it's the showstopper people make it sound like.

Perhaps if these "prosumers" you talk about learned to use a camera correctly so that they wouldn't need to have those 16bpp to make up for their bad exposures this wouldn't be as much of an issue?

And if the gimp developers added the 16bpp there still is the "Well no REAL graphics artist can work with an application without CMYK support" or "Yeah it could be nice but I won't learn how to use it until it works exactly like photoshop"
