The candidates were announced. This year, to make life easier for the candidates, the Membership Committee formulated the questions which will be answered on the GNOME Foundation mail list.

Hey wow! I just had an idea, I'll just have someone from my company nominate and elect me in, and then that way we can steer Gnome anyway we want! BwaaHaaHaa!

GNOME Foundation directors represent the membership, not a company they may be affiliated with. Additionally, GNOME Foundation directors do not set the technical direction of the project. Your post may have been a joke, I don't know, but it is important that other readers of FootNotes are not misled. :-)

My comment was more of a comment than a joke.

It's my option that the possibility that Gnome can be led or misled by the influence of a single company. I am not against corporate influence on Gnome, but I want it done fairly, which cannot happen unless there is a good presence non-affiliated hackers designers and others in the leadership of Gnome.

Herein lies a topic for debate.
