Software that 'just works'

Interviews
Interviews

"He chose to paint the situation that exists between GNOME and KDE as a picture of glorious harmony - but then one can only ask questions. One can't dictate answers." So, what do you do when you're given a set of unprofessional and highly combative interview questions? You dodge the bullets and tell the truth! :-) Here's an interview I did with a local newspaper last week. Harsh!

Re: Varghese / Gordon irritating

You make some good arguments. I found the KDE interview more like a corporate PR sob story than an actual "what's on the rise for you?" interview. The tone of the two articles (their answers anyways) were totally different. Compare these (I wish you had included quotes in your post, it helps! :)

I see something of the traditional US vs Europe enmity in the whole Gnome vs KDE thing. Is that a far-fetched comparison?

I totally agree.[...]

What kind of a relationship does the Gnome team have with their counterparts at KDE?

We get on really well.[...]

So Gordon agreed completely with the whole "versus" analogy, implying some sort of fight or battle, while Waugh just played it nice and casual. Even contrasting the titles of the two articles, Software that 'just works' and 'A developer's nightmare lends creedence to your claim that Varghese allowed Gordon 'to sob and complain[...]'

Well put, Timothy.
