AbiWord v2.5.0 Released
The AbiWord team is very proud to announce version AbiWord v2.5.0 of the popular cross platform word processor. This is the first snapshot of the development that will lead to AbiWord 2.6.
This snapshot allows interested developers, testers and users a sneak preview into the future of AbiWord.

We know it's way overdue, but still the AbiWord team is happy to announce the availability of AbiWord v2.4.5.
This release a bugfix release only, but this time the amount of bugfixes is rather huge.
Especially the import and export filters have received a lot of attention due to the Google Summer of Code program,
which is funding these developments.

After a long wait, the AbiWord team is happy to announce the
availability of AbiWord v2.4.4, the Word Processor for Everyone. This release is a bugfix release only.
For those of you wondering about v2.4.3: it is basically the same as
2.4.4, except for some build issues that were fixed.
The changes from v2.4.2 to v2.4.4 include, amongst others:
* Substantially updated the OpenDocument import and export filters
* Lots of tweaks to the Windows interface
* Various fixes to our Right-to-Left text handling routines

The AbiWord team is happy to announce AbiWord v2.4.1. Since the 2.4.0
release we have received a lot of great feedback from our users, which
led to a number of useful bugreports as well. This is the first
bugfixing releasing in the new stable 2.4 series to address some of
those bugreports.

In addition to hundreds of bug fixes reported by our users, it contains several exciting new features.

AbiWord v2.3.6 "Math is hard!" Released
The AbiWord team is happy to announce AbiWord v2.3.6 for your stress-testing pleasure. This release is virtually identical to what will become AbiWord 2.4, but still contains some bugs that we'd like to see squashed over the next few days.
Since the previous release, equation support has become available to Mac OSX >= 10.3 and Windows NT based systems as well. At the moment of writing these release notes support for Windows 9x/ME systems has been included, but this was not ready in time to go in v2.3.6.
Note: While standard symbol fonts can be used to render equations, the best results are achieved when the Computer Modern fonts are installed. Also note that equation input and rendering are still considered to be experimental. We welcome your feedback on this new feature.

The AbiWord team is happy to announce AbiWord v2.3.5 (aka AbiWord 2.4 beta 2) for your stress-testing pleasure. This release is virtually identical to what will become AbiWord 2.4, but still contains some bugs that might the speed up the greenhouse effect or cause your house to fall over.
Several new features are starting to become available for normal users willing to test them out. We will address two of them in some more detail.
Equation input and rendering
This release is the first that has builtin support for creating equations using the itex language (a dialect of LaTeX) alongside the already existing MathML support. Inserting nicely rendered equations is as simple as typing E=mc^2 now!

The AbiWord team is happy to announce AbiWord v2.3.4 (aka AbiWord 2.4 beta 1) for your stress-testing pleasure. This release is virtually identical to what will become AbiWord 2.4, except with some more bugs still in it.
This snapshot allows interested developers, testers and users a sneak preview into the future of AbiWord. Note that at the moment we only have pre-compiled pacakges for Windows and the Nokia Maemo platforms.
The changes from 2.3.2 to 2.3.4 (2.3.3 was never any good) include a lot of bugfixes, as we are working on stablizing the 2.3 development series towards our first stable 2.4 release. No record of the exact list of changes is available for this release. Though the contributors for this release are not listed explicitly, we are very thankful for all their help and support.

nearing the end of the 2.2 release cycle. We are working hard towards

This releases includes a massive list of changes and bugfixes all over the map, ranging from the MS Word importer to the MacOSX port to a nice bunch of fixed crasher bugs. We hope we didn't break something in the process[1].

While AbiWord v2.2.4 had a nice list of bugfixes, our users were kind enough to report that there were still nasty bugs running around.
So here we are releasing AbiWord v2.2.5, shorty after the previous release.

We are happy to announce the availability of AbiWord v2.2.3. This release contains a great amount of bug fixes and improvements over the previous release. This is especially true for the MacOSX platform
