Wine-doors 0.1.2 (Carménère) released

Wine-doors 0.1.2 has been released, this release sees vastly improved exception handling thanks to Andrew Stormont who joined the project after 0.1.1, along with some new features tweaks and various other fixes. We’re also syncing the repos from SVN nightly, this means that we can release apps faster between now and the finalisation of the new application database which is currently being worked on by Sam Taylor.

GCstar 1.3.0 released

GCstar is an application for managing personal collections.

Main new features included in version 1.3.0 are:

Multiple selection for items in list to modify or delete them together.
Multiple selection in results of a web search to insert all the items to current collection.
Board games collections with fetch plugins.
Better look for picture mode and some special effects such as reflection.
Tagging for items with keywords.
Specification of date format by user.
Spelling checker.

Genius reaches 1.0.0

One of the oldest GNOME projects, the Genius calculator reaches 1.0.0 after 10 years in development. I have previously said that Genius is not going to be 1.0 until it can compute eigenvalues for general matrices. Now with RayleighQuotientIteration function, this is partially satisfied. Anyway, this was the original GNOME desktop calculator appearing first time as part of GNOME in the GNOME v0.11 tarball in January 1998. It was later split out of GNOME and has had its own release schedule since.

GCstar is an application for managing personal collections.

Main new features included in version 1.2.0 are:

New translations: Swedish, Indonesian, Brazilian
New default collection: Wines
When grouping in list, number of items may be added on categories
Quick search is also available in picture mode
A field may be selected for sorting when using export plugins
Bug fixed in some plugins because of websites changes
Reduced time for startup and to load a collection

I think I've delayed it from the masses for too long now, so here's a pre-release for your consideration. The idea is to get one of these out a week until its stable and functional enough to get a release candidate out.

PeaZip 1.6 - file archiver for Linux and Windows

PeaZip is a cross platform archiver, released under LGPL for Linux and Windows, developed using Lazarus/FreePascal.
Basically it acts as frontend for console archiving utilities, like p7zip and Matt Mahoney's PAQ, supporting many archive formats and offering a wide range of features about archiving, multi-volume spanning, compression and encryption.

What is in a release name?

This is the first time Kino has named a release. For those not familiar with the expression, see what Urban Dictionary has to say.

Well now, you ask, "what is that supposed to mean for Kino?" Basically, it means that I am done working on it. Well, mostly. I am done working on the functionality. To some, a 1.0 release is the dawn of a new era--where work towards the next major release begins that often involves re-design, re-engineering, and re-factoring. I am not saying that work towards another major release will not ever happen with myself as the lead developer and maintainer. However, I do not plan to for at least a year.

Hybrid Share Logo Contest
Hybrid Share needs a distinctive logo. There are no guidelines on how the logo should be. The only rule that you have to follow is that the logo should be in svg format.

The prize for the competition is the honour and satisfaction of having your work displayed on Hybrid Share Web Site and Application, with full credit given for each use of the image. All the Logos will be exposed at the Logos Page.

GShare 0.93 released

A new version of GShare has been released. GShare is an application that allows users to share files with other users on the same local network and is developed to be extremely easy to use.

This release fixes some problems, including permiting advanced users to change the GShare server port and the shared folder.
